Acknowledgment of Country and Land
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which we gather across Australia – the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples – and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We honour their deep connection to country, community, and culture.
We also extend our respect and acknowledgment to the tangata whenua of Aotearoa New Zealand, the Māori people, whose rich traditions and wisdom are an integral part of New Zealand's heritage. We pay homage to their enduring guardianship of the land, sea, and sky.
As participants and organizers of the National Primary Schools Coding Competition, we are inspired by these cultures that have nurtured innovation, storytelling, and environmental stewardship for generations. We embrace the spirit of learning and collaboration that is at the heart of both Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Māori cultures, as we embark on this journey of education and discovery in the field of coding and technology.
We commit ourselves to respectful and inclusive practices that honour these ancient and living cultures, and to fostering an environment where all children can learn and grow with respect for diverse histories and knowledge systems.
